I'm reading letters by Yonotan Netanyahu. He writes to his then girlfriend just before the 1967 war. The letter comprises of a joke which rings true, 40 years on:

An Englishman, American and Israeli are stuck in a cannibalistic village. They are in the cooking pot, facing their deaths. The chief, who enjoys a good Human, decides to grant them one wish.
The Englishman asks for his pipe to have one last smoke. The chief grants it.
The American asks for one more steak. The chief grants it.
The Israeli asks for a kick up the ass. The chief says no way. The Israeli pleades. Finally the chief caves in and kicks the Israeli in the backside.
The Israeli pulls out his gun, shooting the chief and all the other cannibals.
The American and Englishman ask why he didn't shoot them before.

The Israeli replies "what, and have the U.N. call me an Agressor?"
