Trans-Christmas
Q. What do you do when you are in transit in a small town called Irun on the Spanish coast waiting for your train to Madrid?
A. Have Spanish Christmas in the street and then follow some person who you don't know on a mission to find cheap food and end up drinking two glasses of wine, eating lots and chancing upon a big party.
Well that was irun. It is a random town on the Spanish border of France, right on the coast of the Bay of Biscay, about 15 minutes frm Sans Sebastian. Originally we couldn't find food but then i used my broken Spanish to explain to a guy that:
1. we are students
2. we want to eat
3. we have no money.
¨Ahh¨ He says, ¨No moneymoney,¨ and he points that we should follow him.
he takes us to a bar where wine is 1 euro and food is 3 euro. Yum.
Of course ther are kids everywhere and fire crackers and everything you could imagine. All in our transit town of irun. We made it to the train and were ina compartment full of young people including two south american girls who went travelling Italy for 17 days and had three MASSIVE suitcases with them. Now we are in Spain, great hostel, great location BUT ALL THE SHOPS ARE CLOSED. Damn the whole Spanish Christmas thing...
