Well. i feel like the calm that came after the storm (that never ended).
So i know it seems a little bit abrupt but i am in Brisbane.. doing some work, makin some $$$. All is essentially well. Do you guys know that is only take 1:45mins to fly to Bris? Me neither, i thought it was like 3 hours..
In anycase, my condition of going was that i would stay mostly in the hotel room with the young bubba during her sleeps. So i can study. And i have. Only i didn't plan on said bubba becoming ill. and crying non-stop. and throwing up all over her cot. And me having to hold her until she fell asleep.
So now it's calm. and i smell like baby formula. And i haven't done nearly as much contracts as i should have.
Anyways, the family i travel with are fun. generally. the Man of the House himself is a master of contracts. Incidentally he called me an UNCLOSETED SOCIALIST. i am so far from a socialist, it's not even funny. But im not so much a capitalist. Where exactly does it leave people like me?
I'm in the middle of formulating a new theory about life direction. And i think it can be applied to knowledge as well (yay i can be Foucault type character... and Derrida.. and boudier?(that's so not anybody, but there is someone spelt kinda like that who i am thinking of.. give me a break, it's been a year since my arts degree)).
So here goes my theory. You have stages of life - development and completing. You develop basically all the time and every so often you 'complete' and then the development continues SLIGHT REFRACTED FROM IT'S ORIGINAL TRAJECTORY. in other words, you have a plan - ie. Im going to Brisbane. You have envisaged an idea of how it will go - because generally you choose to do things, so you think about them. Then when stage one is complete - I get to Brisbane, the trajectory of my predictions are changed - slightly. Maybe because i had to get out a jacket coz i was cold and didn't think of that. Whatever,
BUT the point i'm trying to make is that the same idea is applied to knowledge. So you have Marx - he thinks of all these ways to categorise society - capitalism that will turn to socialism. And during the development and right up to the completion of his theory, that seems to be the way to go. But after the development, the knowledge forces the society to change the trajectory. so in my opinion, it renders the future result of said theories obsolete.. are you following me at all?
Whatever, it works for me.
