Italy.
What can I say? not much really. No, that is not true. How can one deny the history, architecture and people who have brought the world so much? Well one cannot. let me tell you first about where we stay. We stay near Termini station (v. near) in a place called Freestyle Hostel which is 15 euro a night (cheap for Italy), has no curfew and is run by a Punjabi man who really likes to party. When i say really, i mean that he dances to Usher in the middle of the dorm rooms... (visual: he is about 35, overweight and short. He has a short haircut and wear black leather shoes with jeans and a blazer). The people who work there are Indians and are pretty funny.. i cannot seem to escape them.
In anycase, it is very clean and comfortable. it offers breakfast and dinner for free which is a huge bonus.
The first day that we arrived took us to the Vatican. We climbed the Copolla and saw a 360 degree view of Rome. Beautiful. The Vatican itself is quite impressive, the work and the history. The amount of lives it ruined juxtaposed to the glutony and excessivness of the church itself. A strange experience. It was actually Christmas day when we visited and hence there were many Romans there and i have to tell you that the Christmas tree is not all that. Yeh, you would think it would be awesome but it isn't that great.
Becky and i have taken to drinking 1.3€ wine from the supermarket every night. We also buy lunch and snacks there because it is cheap. So far we have been WAY UNDER BUDGET which is fabulous because Florence will empty of bank accounts. I have been told that Florence is a gem so it shall be worth it.
Anyways that night we met a whole lot of people from our hostel. I must sensor this section but suffice it to say that it was quite an adventure and the result was not as I had planned. eh, that is life. 8it was fun, no doubt). i also happen to think Americans are stupid, just generally.
In anycase the next day we went to the Vatican museum which was amazing. Because i saw all this baroque artwork and old artwork, Michaelangelo, Raphael, Peter. Amazing. And the intricacy. Oh by the way, ITALIANS LOVE STAIRS.
Then the next night in the hostel, becky and I were the life of the party, no joke.
We lead everyone out to a place and then we all had a drink. I felt we were with rather tame people... oh well :D
Last night was a BAD night ALTHOUGH we went shopping and then ate out for 3 € amazing and got back at 9.30. the plan was to go out but we decided not to... because of various over tired bad moods.. at least thatis the excuse i will give.
Okay i must run, we did see other sights but i need to go BACk to the train station.. oy vey.
I'll let you know how it goes (this is in reference to being screamed at and screaming back at old italian man who was not helpful and told us there was a 'problem'.)
ciao bella!
