Kissing the Queues and Sylvester

Okay so i know that i have a lot to catch up on. Firstly i left you when i was in Rome and i didn't really give you insight into the funny things that have gone one. I can firstly tell you that i look like a turtle with my backpack. No seriously, i look ridiculous. Becky and I get stares at the train stations , we look so funny.
Let me tell you a little about ROme. So far, out of all the places i have been to, the only two that have really tested me were Kashmir and Rome. It is funny because one can possibly compare the Kashmiri to the Romans in terms of pride. I was probably still in culture shock, but the Romans are not kind. Up until my third day in Rome I found the people rude and abrasive. That's the boring stuff, I'll move on to say that we managed to get out of that ditch and move on. Our friday in Rome was spent at the Colloseum.
Now can you just allow me the liberty of a small rant.
OMG did you know that they charge 11 euro to get into the colloseum? that is like 22 dollars AUD. AND this is a landmark that was built for the people, by the people. THEY ARE JUST MAKING MONEY because they are horrible. I mean not even the art museums, which are so beautiful, charge that much. And i have to tell you, i know i am not supposed to admit this, but i was not too impressed. You know what impressed me the most? An exhibition in the collosseum about Homer and the Iliad.
Like come ON.
Why have a labelled this post 'Kissing the queues?' BECAUSE EVERYWHERE WE WENT THERE WERE COUPLES KISSING. Not just your average 'oh ill just kiss you'. No, we are talking suction cup kisses in every queue we were in. We are talking about MASSIVE PDA's (public displays of affection). It is NOT COOL. Not cool at all.
Okay so on Friday night we went for shabbat dinner in Rome. We went to a house near our station, it was lovely. We were served beautiful food and had excellent offers for free accomodation over new years eve. If any of you are in Rome over shabbat, i will give you the number to call.
We left then for Florence by train. Florence is beautiful, it reminds me of Belgium.
Oo i dont have much time left, so I'll just tell you that New Years Eve is CRAZY here. CRAZY. Like tonnes and tonnes of people in the streets with fire crackers, alcohol ANYTHING. Concerts, music, clubs.. It's like... nuts! Okay i have to go.. will elborate later...
Ciao Bella
