I have a long awaited, much anticipated rant.
So i was at work the other day (surprise!) and all i had to keep my attention was a Cosmo magazine (Gisele on the cover). Now i usually only look at pictures in magazines, but a particular article caught my attention. It was written by Hamish Blake (radio dj person w/ fran fine nasally voice). The title was something along the lines of "what men talk about when amongst themselves".
blah blah yadda yadda sport, breasts etc.
And THEN hamish talks about how his friend slept with a girl who "had no grooming" down there. Hamish concludes that he doesn't expect that girls should have nothing, but el naturale is a no-go.
I put this to the boys at work and they TOTALLY agreed with Hamish (bar one guy - Kudos to him: "i don't give a fuck about hair").
I am appalled really. I mean in my opinion this social pressure comes from these stupid hissy private school boys who cannot seriously handle life as it comes. They seem to need a little bit of grooming on every facet and edge of their world, just in case they are faced with something "raw" and untouched. And if they are faced with something raw and untouched they will either groom it (the beaches of Croatia) or designate it as some cause that needs to be groomed.
And im not just talking about a bikini wax. I mean nothing, NOTHING can every just be left as it is - hair, faces, dwellings, bodies, pets whatever.
It's like some perverse aspiration to be a divine ruler that has control and power over everything in life.
And i know you might think that I am going on a little too long about a couple of guys who prefer a girl with a bikini wax, but I am just so exasperated that, not only the women of Cosmo, but the men of this world put so much pressure and significance on physical appearance that they seem to forget about reality of the situation.
What would be the good in having a perfectly groomed bikini line if one would never let a guy in (excuse the pun). Because like, i think the first thing is to be grateful of finding a girl who will let you view that area, and the rest really doesn't count. The same applies for everything. You gotta be happy with how things naturally are - you have to have humility in everything you do.
It's just so petty to humiliate a person over naturally growing, skin protecting hair. It's so petty to humiliate a land with unneeded, materialistic garbage (ahem Dubai). it's humiliating to put a chihuahua in a tutu.
I really think people need to stop criticising others and trying to change EVERYTHING IN THE WHOLE BLOODY WORLD EXCEPT for themselves.
(meaning, look at your own self before you start criticising others. you really think I like sweaty male feet and flatulence? I DON'T but it's just the way it is).
that article just really irritated me.
NB: it could be that half my argument does not make sense (which is entirely reasonable considering my rage at that disastrous article) - but i felt like i shouldn't stop the flow, you know?

hehe nech, nice rant, maybe you should stay away from magazines because i thought that thats what they are about; hair removal, how to pleasure your man in 392 different ways, breast implants tips, teen pregnancy dilemmas, celeb gossip and which yellow sundress is hotter commentaries ...
I completely agree, Nech.
When a man stands at the gates of heaven, it's HE whose meant to be judged. *achem*
